    Unit 14 They Are Visiting the Zoo  一、  教材分析  
    本课处于Book 5的Unit 14,它与前面学过的Unit4有着内在的联系。在Unit4里面,学生学习了一些动物,如:frog. Kangaroo. Turtle等等,以及它们的能力, 而本课的重点之一是学习动物的特征,通过本课的学习,学生可以更深入地了解动物,整合语言知识点,所以教师调整教材的顺序。在学本课之前,学生已有下面的语言知识基础:
    1、词汇

    (2) Adjective: big small heavy long short funny lovely dangerous beautiful strong cute…
    (3) Color: black white yellow grey brown blue…

    及六句有关动物园规则的  “Don’t …”
    对于五年级学生来说,说单个句子并不难,但要连贯运用语言就表现得比较吃力了,所以老师要创造机会让学生综合运用这些句子,让学生主动构建语言知识。
    二、 学生分析
    本班学生从三年级开始学习英语,对英语已产生了一定的兴趣。学生在四年级已接触过如何描述一个人,如:She has big eyes, she’s beautiful.等。在这节课,主要是学习如何描述动物。根据学生原有的知识水平,老师在这节课里更注重的是创造机会让学生自主、探索、合作学习,以及培养学生综合运用语言知识的能力。
    三、 教学目标

    一、 leading-in
    1 Greeting
    Good morning everybody. How are you?
    2 Sing a song “Andy can swing”
    3 Play a guessing game
    What’s my favorite animal?
    e.g. A: It has two big ears and a long nose.
    B: Elephant.
    (通过sing a song和 play a guessing game来活跃课堂气氛,使学生快速进入英语学习状态;这两个活动也为后面连贯描述动物做准备:同时也训练了学生的英语思维能力和口头表达能力。 )
    二、 Pre-task
    1、1) Present new word “seal”
    T: Can you guess, what’s my favorite animal?

    T: It can run、swim、jump and dance.

    T: It’s a seal. It is big and heavy. Do you know, what’s its favorite food? (CAI)
    Ps: Fish.
    2) Drill “seal”
    (由刚才猜同学最喜欢的动物到猜老师最喜欢的动物,让学生自然而然的过度到下一个学习环节;通过guess引出seal,激发学生的兴趣和提高学生的注意力;同时插入描述seal的句子,让学生在无意识中学习如何描述动物)
    2、Show the title of this lesson
    Xiaoling and Janet like animals too. They are visiting the zoo. (CAI)

    3、1)Present“Why not?” and “rule”
    T: Xiaoling and Janet are going to feed animals in the zoo (CAI show a hamburger). Can they do that?
    Ps: No, They can’t.
    T: Why not?

    T: It’s the zoo rule.
    e.g. “Don’t feed the animals” is the zoo rule. …
    2) Drill these two new words
    (通过创设情景、师生之间的对话引出这两个新单词,训练学生在语境中学习单词)
    4、 Review the rules and learn “kill”
    1) Review the rules
    T: Xiaoling and Janet are visiting the zoo. Can you tell them some rules?

    2) Present “kill”
    T: We should love animals. Don’t kill the animals.
    3) Drill “kill”
    (在学生讲述不要干什么时,老师适时对学生进行情感教育:我们要爱护动物,不要杀害动物。)
    (以上四点的教学目的是:帮助学生解决学习课文的难点,为后面学习课文扫除障碍)
    5、 Learn the dialogue
    T: Xiaoling and Janet are clear with the rules now. They are visiting the animals. (CAI) Let’s listen what they are talking about.
    1)     listen for the first time

    B、   Check the answers (CAI show the pictures)
